I am honored to have the title of Mrs. Eagle Hills and the opportunity to complete in the Mrs. Idaho America Pageant this October. I ultimately decided to do the pageant this year just after I had finished writing my first children’s book. While researching the best ways to get a book published I came across many alarming statistics relating to illiteracy. It was shocking to find out the dramatic and devastating correlation between illiteracy, high school drop-out rates, and even the likelihood of the functionally illiterate ending up in our prison system.
My dream is to get my first children's book published, then travel around Idaho as Mrs. Eagle Hills reading to kids and promoting literacy throughout our great state.
I am excited to meet all of the phenomenal women in the pageant this year and look forward to competing for the title of Mrs. Idaho America 2016. There are many costs that go along with this dream, and I couldn't do any of it without the love and support of my family, friends, and local businesses helping me along the way.
I have set a goal to raise $1,000 for pageant entry fees and wardrobe costs, and anything over that will go towards getting my first book illustrated and published. Every dollar will help!
If you would like to donate something other than funds, here is a list of things I could use as well:
headshot photo (photo shoot)
set of acrylic nails
2 spray tans
hair highlighting and hair cut
items to put in my online auction fundraiser
